Was this a fair test or a set up?

How did the intercepting missile know the enemy missile had been launched? Did it detect the launch somehow or was it told about it by the 'enemy'?

How did the intercepting missile know the trajectory of the incoming missile? Did track it or was it told what it would be?

Did the enemy missile employ any stealth measures such as radar absorbing materials or decoys?

How far apart were the two ships that launched the missiles? Are we likely to have an interceptor missile so close in a real situation?

I realize there is a learning curve and that a finished system can't be designed without a lot of testing along the way, but it is unfair to say... "It shows me that we have that capability, [and] to be able to do from a ship in rolling seas shows me just how accurate that system is." and imply we have the capability to shoot down enemy missiles. We don't.

It was a set up. Like all of the 'successful' tests you'll find.
