You'd think this isn't related to tech, but without LEGO, we wouldn't have LEGO Mindstorms - or LEGO Star Wars. Even Google recognized Monday, January 28th, as the 50th anniversary of the patenting of the iconic LEGO brick.

Lego has made a lot of kids happy. One of the most durable toys around, and stimulates your child's minds too. Happy Bday.

Aahhhh Lego. The only toy to which I could build a house or a plane from the same blocks, smash them in some make-believed disaster, then build a car from the pieces of wreckage. :)

My youngest and I played with them yesterday. She likes to build towers and knock them over.

This is one of the few toys that has spanned generations and maintained popularity. We played with them as children and now play with them as adults alongside our children. An iconic toy.

Three LEGOs were used to fasten the CD ROM disk to the rover landers. This CD ROM disk is inscribed (burned) with information of the names of individuals submitted to NASA before the missions.

Yes, saw it the other day at Google. Lego was one of my favorite toys when I was a kid. Educational and I didn't find it boring at all.

Congratulations to Lego on 50 years! I remember waking my parents up on the weekends early. They'd get out a lego set for me to play with and go back to sleep.

                          Happy 50th Birthday Lego!

Thinking about my Lego set so many years ago puts a smile on my face. Now, after 50 years, we know Lego... well, "She's got legs."
