The Samsung BD-P1400 can be found at that price, at least at Amazon.com, Best Buy, and Circuit City --- at least at the time of this writing.

Being a non-HD person, this really does not make much of a difference to me which system wins this tech battle. But then again, this is how these tech fights work. This is reminiscent of the VHS vs. Beta dust-up. Beta may have looked nicer, but VHS ended up being less expensive overall, so it won that fight.
Let's see if Blu-ray can drop its costs to the point of being competitive enough with HD-DVD.
