This week at the CableNEXT conference, some positive news: Comcast Chief Technology Officer Tony Werner said in his Wed. keynote that 20% of homes would be DOCSIS 3.0 capable by the end of 2008.

In my area where cable companies have monopolies, I try to the minimal amount of business with them. they are double the rates of locations where competition is allowed.

And yet their tech support will still suck...
It's interesting, this fascination with throughput for the internet. At this rate, it seems to me that throughput numbers is just a game. Ye, with the highest throughput, wins...
You do realize that even with 100Mbps, the bottle-neck will still always be the website you're trying to visit? No amount of throughput will make their end fast enough to tax your connection.
