Gadgets & Tech – Compete.com's and Alexa.com's numbers are far from gospel, but they do offer an excellent comparative indicator for traffic. Looking at the traffic estimates and trends for Reddit and Propeller, it's very conceivable that Propeller will overtake Reddit for the #2 position behind Digg amongst the social news powerhouse websites.
I'm only here because I used to have Netscape as my home page, and after a few years I just couldn't help myself from wanting to get in the middle of one of the biggest slug fests I've ever seen on the net. Yeppers my kinda place! Sorry to burst the celebratory thing,,, congrats and carry on,,,, I have a heated argument to attend in another thread.
Propeller didn't really have an Alexa rating before. If you mean Netscape, the Alexa was really high, but that was misleading because so much of the traffic didn't know that it was a social media site. They would type it in, thinking they were getting a page like Yahoo or MSN, then bounce when they realized they'd hit SM. OR they were trying to upgrade their Netscape browser. This is the main reasoning behind the new URL in the first place -- stop losing the people looking for the old Netscape but keep the people who liked the new Netscape (now Propeller).
Those who haven't done so should perhaps go and take a look at some of the OTHER graphs available BEHIND the one that is prominently displayed. The picture painted there is quite a bit different. Sorry to rain on the parade, but it appears that although a larger number of people are COMING to Propeller, they aren't staying very long, and aren't viewing very many pages.
