No question it was probably a smart decision for Netscape business. While it's still too early to say if this is an upgrade or downgrade for all the submitting parties here, the fact that propeller.com is a week old site concerns from the ranking perspective...

well, it has zero google rank and has indexed traffic by Alexa just from a week ago, I guess that's what I meant

patgulipat,

You don't care about the rank, but I do!

It is simple economics.

The more the traffic to your site, the more advertising dollars, and therefore an assured existence!

It is a tough world, and for us to exist as a vibrant, productive community, we must be able to pull more traffic to Propeller.

That in itself puts an onus upon in this community to strive for the highest quality in our posts and comments. Content is really the King! The better the content, the more the visitors who are interested in reading what we have to say.

James, I think all signs are good so far. I am sure if all of us put our shoulders to this wheel, we can make the wagon move! We are in this together, and I am going to do my very best to make my posts and comments intelligent, balanced, and provocative in the best sense of the word, like I have always tried to do.

Let me wish smooth sailing for all of us, and let us get more visitors!

Peace and Blessings!

Propeller is GREAT- its moving fast

Maybe the Spammers will lose interest as the casual surfing traffic is not redirected from the netscape portal so the gains in revenue from made for adsense blogs will be down.

It does mean that traffic will be down for a while but this should keep things running smoothly for us dedicated PROPELLER HEADS.

I am surprised that there is no announcement or redirect script on the new portal though (unless I have missed it!)

The site looks pretty much the same.

The duplicate reporting mechanism is indeed working. We just get a lot of reports and have to go through each one.

Qualifies as extremely cranky at any rate.

Yeah if you ever suspect a user is a sock puppet, get in touch with an anchor or a scout about it.

Neo,

We can say "se la vie" and shrug our shoulders, or find these mutts that are spreading their doodoo on our lawns, and teach them a lesson or two!

Correction:

I mis-spelled!

It should read "c'est la vie"

Pardon my French ! Really!

Took me a while to figure it all out. So far, so good.

Maybe I'm too infrequently involved, but I didn't have a clue & thought I was being scammed. Took me awhile to trust this change as valid. Where was the notice? -Rev. S

Will be interesting to see what they mean by "we are not happy to simply stand pat with our existing features. In the near future, we will be able to share information about our new social news platform"

What's staying, what's going, what's new etc, etc.

Should be fun. good to see so much of the community participating here already.

It's simple, populist. They're staying, we're going.

just kidding just kidding!

Took me a while to finally get logged in, I hope we continue to do well and hopefully continue to grow. Nice work!

Yeah, sorry about that. We were having trouble with the login system earlier getting it to *keep* you logged in - but our tech guys have got those issues fixed now.

Glad to see people coming to the new domain already! Propeller FTW! :D

Just hijack to home page, the most obvious log in doesn't work, no instructions to the switch over (though I havn't checked E-mail, but with AOL I doubt it

Yup, AOL is still my most hated internet service, and they just screwed up one of the better, if not best service.

Bad enough that they already played with the netscape browser, making me seriously thinking about changing to Modzilla / firefox

I never use the NS browser. I use Firefox.

Was an easy login for me.
