Don't own a single one of them. Don't want any of them. Too many gadgets as it is. Only keeps making the companies that produce them rich and the purchaser poor. NO thank you.

I agree with you amazing. We are being railroaded by these things. The only one I would be interested in would be the digital camera.

It's unavoidable that the world is constantly changing while tech companies keep churning out latest gadgets into the market.

I always knew I was a dinosaur when it comes to technology and this article just proves it. I don't have any of these "must have gadgets" and couldn't care less about them. Give me a good book anyday!

The only thing I have on the top 5 is the Nikon D80 I bought beginning of the year. It has served me pretty well :)

those items are lame, What is the benefit of Apple TV? I can hook my laptop to my TV and play anything I want with VLC media player.
Maybe the Iphone could go on the list?

Technology is a great thing, I own a IBM laptop, a SLR Digital camera, and a Wii. If people did not buy technology, then technology companies would not exist and advancements in technology would be going no where, or just really slow. So it's a good thing that the people that can afford to buy the newest technology, do. So to Amazing, sure they make money off of us who buy their stuff, but we work for a living to buy those kinds of things. Am I just not gonna buy a car, because it makes car companies richer. If everyone thought like that then they would not have the money, resources, or demand to produce the kinds of cars we have today and we all might be driving around in a horse and buggy or the Ford Model T right now. All because you don't want to make someone who works for a living a little richer. You can apply that to anything you use toady, not just cars. ex. TV, phone, refrigerator (lets all build our own ice boxes like in the old days so we don't make anyone richer)

I agree technology is a great thing. I think I was reacting to the "must have" of the title. If the tech companies make money, fine. But trying to make it seem like you MUST HAVE some of these gizmos just puts the poor in the unenviable position of not being able to afford the latest and greatest.
I don't want the dang things because I don't need them. It's a part of my personal way of life to buy nothing that I can really live without. For instance, I like coffee, but I don't get it at Starbucks. The price is nuts and the coffee is not so wonderful that it justifies the wonderful price.
The highlighted gadgets may be great, but I don't need them. Therefore, I do not want them.

I like technology but I don't agree with his choices for the top 5. My first cell phone (in 1986) was the size of a phone book and it took the company 6 hours to install it in my car. I needed it because I was a Realtor. Today, I have a Motorola Razr which out performs the car phone and (as we all know) is less than 1/2 inch thick and about the size of a credit card.

Must have if we want to continue to be a puppet of the needless consumerism sweeping the nation. The message on the Wii system after play has gone on for a while is right, "get up and go outside for a while".
