    Notebooks are a horrible way to compare hardware. Notebook motherboards, and case designs are all custom, which means that it would all depend on who is manufacturing that hardware for you, to get a cheaper price. I have to say, the 17in MacBook Pros are a great deal, 8600GT video card, etc. Very nice. The guy doing the review obviously has no idea what hardware is what, the 8600GT is a DX10 card. The XPS model only has DX9 video card options.

    Desktops should have been compared in the article.

      God forbid you buy any Apple and don't live in a country with a real Apple dealer, like Latvia, Lithuania, or several other EU countries.

      Of course, you can always ship your Apple to Ireland for service. Some graphic artists I know that relocated found that out the hard way

      But they are great for some who will never be "computer inclined", like artistic types that need extra-intuitive, simple to use programs.

        anybody know if the mac is safer to use than XP windows. where could one test drive a mac I have heard good and bad!
