Interesting. I'm about to replace a defective TV, and this looks like very interesting technology.

The power supply on my 3 year old Philips plasma is going out. You now have to spend a hour or more turning it on and off to get it to do anything.

I bought it from Sears. They came out, and gave me a quote of $741 to replace the power supply, with no assurance that's the problem.

Even though Sears was able to get a price on the power supply, when I called Philips, they claimed that no power supply was available for that model. Consumer law says they have to support it with parts for 7 years, but like the US government, what does that matter.

I let them know that was the last Philips product I will ever buy.

I can just see the first lawsuit deposition:

"Well Sir, I was using my Wii with Star Wars Lego, when all of a sudden Darth Vader made a dirty move, and I panicked and my wiimote went through the tv and the lasers just shot right out and freakin nailed me! So now I'm suing for the loss of my hand"
