Changes will be made. If they should prove unpopular, tdrapeau and the staff, as a consequence of this very non-specific post, will then claim that, "We announced that changes were being considered, and we invited user comments." In that way they hope to avoid responsibility for their own actions. It is alo the next step in the erosion of their userbase, Each time they demonstrate their disregard for the people on the site, they lose more users.

We aren't really sure if vending machines will be relevant at the time you reach your decision, should you decide to make one. They may be obsolete, depending on the consensus of the individuals looking in to how people respond to our thoughts on what we could possibly do to make vending machines more relevant or possibly obsolete.

I don't know what Netscape has done...they took something that worked and turned it into a bland sheet of paper. And of course AOL had to get into the picture. It's the old story of a company doing something well, then merging with another company, and the product starts to stink.
The greed abounds!

Now for the question that is just begging to be asked:
Will these changes make it easier for navigators' stories to make it to the front page?

This is, no doubt, a response to the tsumami of Rosie/911 Truther posts that have dominated the Homepage lately. Even after sending group messages to mutual friends has been eliminated, people still have found a way to game the system.
