way to go everyone! so great to see Netscape doing so well since I left (oh... wait... :-)
keep rocking... the number of vote, quality of stories, and quality of comments has been really impressive.
when Netscape came out people made fun of it for the 2-7 votes it took to get to the home page. Six months later Netscape has the same metrics as digg in month six--perhaps even better!

Good work Mark. I respect your integrity and fairness. As this community continues to grow, we need to use it for the good of all. Even if we come from different points of view, truth will rise to the surface every time. The following link provides good food for thought regarding what we post and how we comment. Thank you for your hard work.

"Truth will rise to the surface every time"
Here time is very important, should rise to the surface in a time when it really matter. We hurried from one event to another with out getting all the facts, soon become irrelevant or conspiracy subject when it followed by another surprise. Yet it's getting improved, I think we are more informed/misinformed in time than the generation before us.
Now what most fear we might lose the choice of free web news as it makes it difficult for the government to feed only their side of story to the masses. How governments could do that? With what pretext? It is any one's guess

A good follow up article to this would be: "The Buzzards of Wizz". It could be about how the navigators of Netscape perch over the opposition waiting to pick their bones clean if they get too powerful, followed by them urinating sinks and neg ratings all over the place just to make everyone's Wheaties a bit soggier.

You mean people out there actually listen to our blatherings. How outstanding, or unfortunate, or funny, or something...
Congrats, STONERS.

I just perused the TOU section of Netscape and am at a loss as to how your original comment was in violation of these TOU's.
I read your comment and understood it to be your opinion. I do not see anything that is a violation of these terms. Maybe your opinion just needs more "shaping" before it's allowed to be seen.

It's the constant thread jacking, negativity, nastiness, etc. These threads are here for people to comment on the story that they're attached to, not continually dredge up past issues (that we've all moved on from) and create a continual air of dissatisfaction. If you're unhappy with Netscape, then sitemail us or move on. This shouldn't be continually hashed out in threads where it's not only inappropriate, but disruptive...

I am relaying a message from MASKED PROTESTER.
" I regret that I am unable to post on here anymore, since it seems I broke a rule of conduct. I fail to see what rule I broke, I say this based on other posts I have witnessed in the past.
I wish you all well....my friends and foes alike. May you always seek out the truth. Thanks for all the past debates.

I am not interested in hijacking the thread; but if this thread is about contributrs to Netscape, and people who make it interesting, I think it's appropriate to talk about the Masked Protester.
Additionally, I thought that the comments that got him banned were quite inocuous, compared to others I've seen whose authors were not banned. I refer you to DaShadow's comments on the Kidney Foundation thread the other day.
the point Iam trying to makeis that justice seems somehow arbitrary ith regard t comments, and I'd really like much clearer guidelines.

To the Editors....I see it took 4 minutes to remove my story regarding MP...new record. As I said in my preamble to the story...if you do not respect free speech then ban me also...as I do not respect a person or organization that doesn't. I have seen you let racists have their say..extreme name calling go on questioned. I don't know what the norm is for your thinking or lack of. I think I have a lot of experience in the world of communications and the world of business and find you are doing a great diservice to your community by not leting a person give his or her rebutal

Thank you for your - comment...as I was saying you have a lot to learn if you wish to succeed in the world of business. I take it you are young...you will learn by your mistakes ...I did...wish you well.

I realy do wish for him and anyone else to have the ability to learn as they grow older. To listen and be able to hear without bias what others are saying. To formulate an opinion after hearing the facts. To just turn off another person before not heating their side of the story is not the the way to learn. If after hearing the others side take what ever action you see fit
This is my final post on this subject. Thank you for listening.

I've always felt that there ought to be some sort of arbitration mechanism for confict resolution at Netscape, and since you raised the issue, I'd like to reiterate that proposal.
Deleting uses arbitrarily like deus ex machina is not winning the Netscape management any friends, and I would hope that the last thing wanted is an advesarial relationship betwen the folks that help drive content and those who manage the website.

Well anchor is defined as:
Something that drags another object down or decreases it's momentum.. That fits pretty well..
Congrats Stoners,
Luv, its been along time since you and I had to talk Stoners through the act of uploading a story.. He's come a long way... //wipes tear/// Makes me proud ;)
As for NS banning MP. They will never change. Their one sided way of enforcing the rules has become epidemic, and it would be very interesting to see if their actions meet the criteria of discrimination... I wonder..
