I am really looking forward to a release date and testing out the browser. I hope it's what 8.0 was not!

I agree. Netscape 8.0 was a great idea gone bad! It launched slowly, loaded webpages slowly, crashed often, the bookmark window scrolled on its own, etc. Did I mention that it crashed often? I put up with 8.0 for over a year and finally gave up on it last year. I now use Firefox and it runs great but doesn't have the cool features of 8.0. I miss Netscape and hope that 9.0 will be a keeper.

This should really be called Netscape Vista. A perfect sounding name.

I'm particulary fond of Netscape ME, but that didn't go over too well.

Yeah, we should follow the Microsoft model of "Netscape Non-descriptive adjective edition".

That's what's funny, and cool, about it. In this case it actually ends up making sense.

I wish they would allow email from other sources like they did in 7.2. I still use it, but it closes up on me a lot- I usually go to firefox for my web browsing, and keep 7.2 for my mail. If anyone knows how to transfer mail from other sources (eg. adelphia) to the new netscape browsers, please let me know. I would not mind upgrading... netscape is one of my favorite browsers.... IE sucks.

FireFox simply beats them all.

Except that Netscape is the same or better because it can display pages the way Firefox does or the way IE does.

They can use this site for the new browser's homepage.

SeaMonkey 1.1 Suite does what Netscape 7.2 in Mac OSX does, but much faster. And even uses the latest Mozilla themes...
