Nov. 16, 2006, 7:48 p.m.I was actually joking, because if the anchors were to meta on their own baby, it's kind of a conflict of interest no matter how unbiased they are. AOL is one thing, Netscape is another.
I HEART NETSCAPE 4EVA! =)

Nov. 16, 2006, 9:26 p.m.The New Netscape with GM Jason Calacanis and his so-called Anchors, what ever that means, has been a DISGRACE from day one...
Netscape Users deserve a real system and real service.. The Old system should never have been changed to this Mess???
If the rumor is in Fact true, maybe just maybe the Netscape management can replace the current staff with competent personnel..
There are a lot of excellent Men and Women IT experts who can restore Netscape to the System it once was..
Sincerely,
-

Nov. 17, 2006, 4:03 p.m.But yet, here you are after all this time, reading and commenting -- participating on this website that you love to hate.
And that, my friends, is ultimately Jason's greatest accomplishment ;)
Thanks for the ad views.

Nov. 17, 2006, 1:29 p.m.Two questions come to mind... (Sorry for the comment directed so blatently at Jason, but feel free to discuss)
1) Does that mean that you have no interest in competing with Netscape/Digg in your 'next thing' (also, are you contractually obligated to stay out of the space now)?
2) When AOL kills NeoNetscape and reopens Netscape98, do you have interest in making a brand new site to complete your vision of bringing competition to the Social News metaphor (also, are you contractually obligated to stay out even if your former employer isn't interested in the space)?
I came to Netscape when the Digg/Netscape matchup was announced (Friday Night, 8PM ET/9 Pacific, $300 PPV) and walked away from the barren uninteresting site that I percieved at the time. I came back after your Gang Appearances enticed me to check out your Beta cast, and was drawn to the site. The organization of the site, the meta journalism, the obviously small but growing community was appealing to me. I hope it lives on.

Nov. 17, 2006, 1:04 p.m.Is this the end of Netscape? Say it ain't so Rico. (Edward G.Robinson)

Nov. 17, 2006, 1:15 p.m.This is usualy what happens in the Corporate world when a giant buys a succesful business, brings in the old owners and other people to steer the ship to success. Once they have control and where they want it, the begin a management frustration so these people can't get anything else done. They then hire cheaper people who will do anything they want and have no mind of their own "Corporate Yes Men".
Never sell out your passion, they new owners never have the vision to carry on.

Nov. 17, 2006, 1:20 p.m.Thank God!!! Is this the stooge that has turned Netscape into an idiotic blog? When asked by the Anchors which direction that Netscape should go, the majority demands, bring back the old Netscape. Out with this DIGG blog crap, bring back all types of News and Information, Emulate About.com. I've been with Netscape since 1994, long before most currently using the browser right now. I couldn't give a rat's behind to emulate Internet Explorer or Firefox. I wonder how many people know that just 12 years ago Netscape was the leading browser, then the MORONS at AOL took over the company and it has been downhill from there. Then to make matters worse these same idiots at AOL make Netscape spin off Mozilla and then make Netscape want to be like Mozilla, it doesn't make any sense. So Jason if you are responsible for the crappy way Netscape is now, good riddens, if you were trying to change it for the better but the AOL goons were preventing you, you make the right choose to get out now.

Nov. 17, 2006, 4:58 p.m.In all of business history I can't think of a better example of squandering a brand than the Netscape story.
To go from the dominant browser on the internet to this mess is astonishing. This should be in business school textbooks as an example of what not to do.

Nov. 17, 2006, 2:29 p.m.I think this whole Digg-like blog thing was the best thing that happened to Netscape in recent years. Well... it is sad to see Jason go. But of course he need to stick with his principles. I hope this stays as is than going back to read only news sites. It truly is a pleasure to be in this site.

Nov. 17, 2006, 3:52 p.m.Wokerette, Your Post..
'lmao this looks bad!!you can tell us we posted dupes, but after 8 hrs you cant tell us f a coworker quit? lmao we have the news from all over the world but we know nothing about what happens here! Iisnt that ironic'
What a disgrace you are to other Netscape Users..
Jason Caacanis and CK must really be proud of You, you are a good example of there pathetic target audience...
All You do is offer pathetic comments in your small world, but, that's OK Jason and CK. (who ever that is) really identify with your type of input and responses. They are always really shallow and have no meaning, therefore You fit right in the their Pathetic format. You just might want to Stop Insulting other Netscape Users and maybe, just maybe you may gain some creditability.
Present some intelligent ideas of your Own it's really not that hard, also, try to use correct english language. If you have any schooling it really does not show, you can do better...
Respectively,

Nov. 17, 2006, 3:59 p.m.Jason,
You have been a Disgrace to Netscape to say the least....
Good Luck where ever You go, Just Go, and take CK and Your Pathetic Anchors with You..
Netscape would be far better off without You and this incompetent Pathetic Group...
To the Management of Netscape, the Users deserve better than Jason and his Staff...
Respectively,

Nov. 17, 2006, 4:29 p.m.I hope everyone who made AOL a fortress gets the axe. Trying to complain to them that the children that were used on their entertainment section that were being ripped to shreds and having sexual and violent comments about them is ILLEAGAL. But dont complain, because if you do they will delete your email account. I hope AOL burns in he77.
