Oct. 21, 2006, 8:22 a.m.a few years back here in the uk, comanies didnt take from schools because the films they produce were bad. usually you end up being the only motivated one on the course, so 4 years experience was better. now however the government is leaning on the industry here to accept more school leavers. which is nice considering the ruined the film industry here anyway.
it is access to equipment and locations though. the only thing i hate about it in the uk is its the only industry which gets away with expenses only because there's always a film school student willing to do it for nothing
