In this video, Toms Hardware compares how an Intel and an AMD perform. At the the time (9/17/2001), the hot processors were a P4 2GHz, and an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz. This is why CPU Cooling is Important, and efficiency matters. Older, but classic video.

    This is why I no longer buy AMD CPUs. The last one I bought was an AMD K6-233 *many* years ago. Never again--it's been Intel 100% since.

      AMD is my one of my most prized posessions. Now their newer Athlons have the ability to not burn and emulate the Intel's CPU throttling ability.
