Much of the blogosphere is abuzz over a 27-year-old Los Angeles man who was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for selling pirated software. Is this a fair sentence?

    Might I be the first to say.....yarrr.

    Considering that I don't know anyone who is anyone having to do with tech or software or was into BBSs and all that who didn't have a 0-1 day piece of software here or there, I think this is a bit crazy to hear about. But then again, that doesn't mean it's a bad sentence.

      For *selling* pirated software? Absolutely.

      For *using* it? No.

          you can "accidentally" kill someone and not get seven years. i hope tombiro and dossy are not employed as judges in our insane legal system.
