Aug. 10, 2006, 4:10 p.m.And why shouldn't they? MSN does the same thing. It's not like Yahoo doesn't list Google in the search results or prevents you from going to Google. It's more of a "Hey, we do search too. Why not give us a try?"

Aug. 10, 2006, 5:36 p.m.I agree. Google is still number one on the results. It's not like they are pushing google.com down to #2 and listing yahoo.com at number one. Compare this to sponsored links that appear above search rankings.

I still don't see the big deal. I saw Google very clearly listed in Yahoo's results. In fact, I saw that before I saw the Yahoo search box.

Read the article and you will see what the deal is. MSN is not a bastion of everything that is right, and just because they are doing it, doesn't mean its right (or wrong for that matter).
The point of the article, wether you agree with it or not, is that searching Google for yahoo.com, brings up exactly 1 result, and that result is the yahoo.com homepage. On the otherhand searching Yahoo! for google.com brings up a search box saying 'Search the Web with Yahoo!' That is all.
