    I will disagree. First off you run the risk of failing CRC checks, although rare. Second, you can't speed up the connection any faster than the current broadband provider provides. Third, you may merely be taking advantage of pipelineing (characteristics) where multiple sockets are opened up for one file. Basically what this may be is merely an illusion, rather than a hack.

    A theory I have, is that it may be cached in firefox cache, or network provider's cache if they have a transparent proxy you may not know. Prime example, is download from AOL software, it utilizes the AOL proxies to download a file and I net a supposed 2MB/sec as well.

    I will suggest this; using Fasterfox plugin DOES increase throughput of web transfers. (Network admins may hate it, sorry)
