July 3, 2006, 11:32 p.m.I'm impressed that Netscape took their beta out so fast....now if only Google could follow suit.
...or was it too early?

July 4, 2006, 12:10 a.m.I really dont know who you have surveyed about this new layout, but everyone I have talked to had the same opinions, #1 It is not user friendly at all! Instead of having a default page that gave you information in an easy to read format, you have a confusing mish mash that you have to trudge thru. #2 A default web browser is supposed to be something that is easy to read while you transition to your web interests. Instead you have given birth to the DaVinci code of all default pages. I dont know too many people that are keeping Netscape in its prior capacity. Way to go guys!

July 4, 2006, 1:01 a.m.Thanks for the update. I'd noticed a lag time early this afternoon on just about everything. Keep up the good work!

July 4, 2006, 1:14 a.m.I really prefer the cool green of your previous site. Going directly to a sort of forum is quite disconcerting. Also, tried to create a new mailbox a few days ago, but cannot access it (and the "lost password" function does not work). It was a particular e-mail id that I absolutely required. Trying to re-create it of course says the id is already taken. So I'm going around in circles. No one to ask for technical help unless I pay!!!

July 4, 2006, 10:48 a.m.Get rid of the CONTINUE page showing when one sets another page as the home page. Reading some of these comments one gets a feeling that some of the positive emails are set-up emails. I too, as an above entry notes, do not know anyone who thinks that the news item page is good. It is glitter only. The page is just a waste. Netscape staff persons, get over it...it is not user friendly.

July 4, 2006, 10:55 a.m.Another comment...a web search..why are NETSCAPE results appearing on the left side as a web seatch result. Real web results only. This 'NEW" Netscape is REALLY, REALLY annoying. Frankly, I'm starting to not see much of a difference between the way MS Explorer stuffs unwanted items in ones face and Newscape. Please don't screw up FireFox also.

July 4, 2006, 11:31 a.m.I’m not really sure how I feel about it right now. I will give it time to mature and see what it grows into however.
Not big on the “forum†bit or the “voting for the best story†but time will tell.

July 4, 2006, 11:50 a.m.What happened to Netscape? It's ruined. All I see is a pile of BS opinion voting on articles and news topics. I don’t give a crap to hear other people's opinion on "every" single f'ing news topic. Before I could select what news topic I wanted and see discussions and postings. Now, Netscape has just become a giant bulletin board and nothing else. I'm going to go to Yahoo completely now and say goodbye to Netscape.

July 4, 2006, 1:42 p.m.Glad you're making efforts to fix things; however, the best fix of all would be to go back to your previous format. It was the BEST. I don't want a forum or a blog....and it sounds like lots of others don't either. I relied on Netscape to give me highlights of and links to the important news stories of the day, stock quotes, and a few light-hearted blurbs, etc., etc. I could care less who voted for what or what they think of the article. Please give back to us what we loved!

July 4, 2006, 1:52 p.m.More AOL/Netscape/Compuserve crapola. Will it ever end with their ISP services which disconnects randomly, browser attempts, changed and now changed again portal and email?
So; This person finds another portal.
Even "My Netscape" is lacking in feature choices.

July 4, 2006, 2 p.m."Overall Rating: Neutral"¿
You see how the consumer has no voice in changes before they are made? Try downloading AOL if you don't understand what I mean. AOL wants to be Windows if THAT isn't bad enough in itself.
I'm thankful for my DUN connection so I don't have to use Time Warner software. Oh; Thank you someone for allowing DUN connections. This almost elevates Netscape.com's
rating to "Neutral".

July 4, 2006, 2:56 p.m.The new stuff is confusing, but it was confusing the last time you changed it until I got used to it. I have one issue that is especially confusing. I cannot seem to actually see any of the articles themselves...no matter where I click I go to comments about the article or 'sign in' areas but cannot seem to get to the articles at all. Where am I going wrong?

July 4, 2006, 3:43 p.m.Netscape is the original, and still the best browser, in my opinion. The only issue I have with it now is that many videos will not render with the foxfire engine. You need to get your team on this issue right away.
Thanks,
Janina

July 4, 2006, 5:20 p.m.without a doubt the biggest waste of time and energy known to man has resulted in this new netscape homepage. I cannot believe the result you have put out...ridiculous. The page makes no sense and is virtually impossible to understand what it is one is supposed to do when they arrive on the page. I would be totally embarrassed to have put something of this caliber out to the public.

July 4, 2006, 7:25 p.m.The beautiful thing about being human is our ability to think, to innovate, and to explore new ideas. Remember that the world was once considered flat; and the sun revolved around the earth. Anyone who thought differently was considered a heretic. Nevertheless, there were a few innovators and thinkers at that time who dared to challenge and change the original paradigm with new ideas and innovation. Why not! Let's wait and see before we say
