Gadgets & Tech – hmm..........I wasnt prepared for what I saw when I visited the netscape site today!!! the old beautiful netscape no longer existed!!! and its entirely replaced with the new one. Thats sad!! I personally felt the new netscape would be a main part of the original website! Digg has influenced a whole company to change the way they do things!!!

The "new" Netscape SUCKS! There was nothing wrong with Netscape. Why "fix" what ain't broke? I have been using Netscape for 10 years because it WAS the superior browser – now it is as INFERIOR as any other choice! What are we supposed to do; what is left for a decent, USABLE and PREFERED browser? Why should I have to participate in a eastern religion just to join in with a discussion (look up the meaning of an “avatar†(Source: www.dictionary.com))

There is no way to adequately describe my utter contempt for this inferior, inadequate, detestable, unsatisfactory, substandard product which has been foisted upon us! If you are FINALLY getting the idea that I am unhappy, you are FINALLY paying attention!
Can you please explain to us why you chagned to this format ? The old format, everything was right there to see. What are you thinking of ? I have all 7 of my computers using Netscape as my Home page. If this what your new design will be, I will be changing all 7. I am sure I will find something better. It will not be that difficult. just look what you at Netscape have done and see how many users you will be turning away. Once a major beverage company changed the recipe of their product that was sellling for decades and decades. A few geniouses had a "great" idea. When it finaly hit the fan and they realized how much of the market they lost, hey brought back the popular product back. GET THE HINT!
I agree that this is Netscape's blunder that will cause me to look elsewhere. First they did away with Netscape Communicator with the release of Version 8 and now the mumbo jumbo page.
I have been a Netscape user for many years and do not like the format that all of a sudden is on my screen. You could at least give an option to see if we want to change. The all knowing and seeing Netscape has just got another black eye in my opinion.

I don't want other people voting on what I should read first. I want to see major national news stories and then if I want to know about entertainment or sports or whatever I can click a link. I liked having a choice. This new format is awful. What if the New York Times decided to have readers vote on where things should be placed in the paper. What a disaster. If this is how it will be from now on, I'm changing my homepages.

After 12 years, I will be leaving NETSCAPE and going to my MSN . I want the old format. After reading some of the postings, I realized that the format might have been changing weeks ago. ? I ran into a problem several weeks ago and after days of trying to figure out the problem, I had to wipe my hard drive clean and start over and then reloaded the 7.2 and everything worked fine until NOW. NOW we have the new format which 99% of postings think it suxs and my download times have doubled. Good-bye.
The new version is utter and complete CRAP!!!!!!! the site takes forever to load now, and if I really wanted to wade thru all this garbage to get to actual news I would watch it on TV.

Please change back to the old format!@!!! This new format totally SUCKS!!!! nothing worth looking at anymore and it takes forever to load. I knew that after AOL got their hands on netscape it would be only a matter of time before they screwed everything up. AOL is a piece of crap and now so is netscape!@!!!!
So I've signed up under a new and appropriate name. I'll never use it again because I'm leaving netscape and finding a new home. What were you guys thinking??? What happened someone new with an MBA came along and said lets try this and everyone agreed? IT STINKS!!!
From time to time I'll come back to see if my old home page comes up but until then I think I'll be telling the advertisers on netscapes home page that I'm no longer interested in their products if they continue to support the "new and improved" netscape. Maybe this is what it will take to make someone listen, hit EVERYONE in the pocket.
I hope someone at netscape takes note of the number of negative messages coming in and does something about it. Think of the number of people who are just leaving without giving any comments.

There are no words to describe my dissapointment in netscape, I loved the old netscape. I now use gmail instead of netscape mail, you can now sign up for gmail using a text message on your cellphone.
I am writing this for the second time because I'm not sure if the first comments I wrote even were submitted because of all the hoops I needed to jump through. Just another reason to hate this website even more. Generally changes are made to make a product better. The changes made with Netsccape have fallen substantially short of making it a more inviting site to use. I'm not sure who to be more upset with. The morons who served up this pile of feces or the idiot/idiots who thought this would be what the people who regularly use Netscape would want. I guess I will be shopping around for a new home page. I hear Yahoo is pretty good. Please post any sites that you find interesting. Nothing can be as bad as this crap that has been put out by the morons at Netscape.
Hye... so I see a couple things.
I really like the new design, because the old netscape was that, old. There are a billion sites just like the old netscape, and only three sites like the new netscape. I thnk it was broke, and wasn;t getting any new users. This new system will probaly get some new viewers.
Critic 101 is a liar. He/she says they've never used digg before, but look at their first story submitted! Digg v3 worse than v2! Sounds like someone is lying.
If you don't like what the community is voting for, the anchors are looking for good content. Look at that top box thing, the anchors said something about scientology. That's real news, right?
Netscape has been losing traffic steadily for a while. Half the links on the old netscape linked to other AOL properties that were probably paid for. If i were you, i'd at least give the new site a chance.
Hey BigFan, I'm not talkin bad about Netscape, I just loved the beta version of it, have told all my frnds about it and they are using it too, but i didnt think this is how netscape would look, infact if u see my comments, they were always positive. I thought that this would be a new feature on netscape.com and NOT THE ENTIRE NETSCAPE.COM!!!
And yeah, I was lying about not knowing digg.com, but I was talkin in general, I was speaking on behalf of a lot of people here!!!

I hate it! I've visited Netscape daily for years and enjoyed the site. This new format is annoying, confusing and the features I really liked I can't even find. Also I agree with other users who resent that we aren't even given the option of having the old format and disregarding this one. This is absolutely not a favorite of mine anymore. It's too bad - Netscape used to be pretty good.
