Dell probes exploding laptop incident »
Posted by: Brigitte 2 years, 1 month agoDell Inc. announced that the laptop computer seen bursting into flames in photographs on the Internet last week is now being examined as part of the company's probe of the incident. "We have captured the notebook and have begun investigating the event," said Anne Camden, Dell spokeswoman, who also confirmed the the computer was made by Dell.

June 28, 2006, 5:42 p.m.I especially like that the spokeswoman used the phrase, "We have captured the notebook..." I don't generally think of blown-up laptops as something to be "captured".
Also, I'm typing this comment on a Dell laptop right now so wish me luck.

my macbook pro gets to like 1,000 degrees... i'm certain i will set a table on fire with it some day.

June 29, 2006, 3:54 a.m.Yeah, Brigitte's using a laptop I nicknamed "the windtunnel". It's not nearly as hot as my Macbook or Dell, but it's deafening. So here's your choice: deaf or scalded.
