June 16, 2006, 4:23 p.m.Yea the page is now coming up when you first enter beta page which is good. This site has a great deal of potential. Currently the Digg.com crowd has hi-jacked it to some extent but things will continue to smooth out. Good Job AOL/Netscape.

June 16, 2006, 4:30 p.m.They'll get bored eventually.. I have a feeling it's the same handful of 14 year old kids home from summer school searching for ways to mess with the system.. Which is cool, cause thats exactly what we need for beta testing ;)

June 17, 2006, 4:57 p.m."I have a feeling it's the same handful of 14 year old kids" Yes, people who post any criticism of Netscape are all 14 year olds... because Netscape is perfect. Get real. The problems they're mentioning (framing exit links, huge amount of ads, messy layout, etc) are all legit concerns.

June 17, 2006, 9:47 p.m.how about getting rid of the annoying sidebar when you go to a linked site? And for huge traffic website, there are way too many ads. The two medium recktangles are annoying. And no one cares that they'll eventually be able to chat it up with CK Sample. Do they? :P

June 17, 2006, 11:21 p.m.If you have performance issues with the netscape website - may I suggest to try another browser. Not only will it just make netscape function better but you will be using a standards compliant browser. Now I know linking in comments appears to be restricted so I will just suggest you GOOGLE search for the following and try it.: MOZILLA FIREFOX 1.5.0.4 OPERA 8.5 NETSCAPE 8 Download them, install them THEN try the site again. So far IE, NS, Firefox, and Opera properly render the site. *Go Dev. Team!*

June 18, 2006, 12:58 a.m.There always seems to something in IE, so if you see a display bug, let us know. We're trying to get to all of them. (That's what the feedback form is for)

June 18, 2006, 10:52 p.m.Smaller ads One ad per page Small Google ad in the comments section Smaller sidebar The option to turn the sidebar off in user preferences and in the sidebar itself. seems like all of the complaints that have been made have been fixed.

June 19, 2006, 10:16 a.m.The delay from the time a story is submitted to the time it is displayed has grown somewhat since Thursday. Now it is 3 plus hours. I would think you would want your news to be as fresh as possible. I know I do.

June 19, 2006, 10:27 a.m.I would think this is because users has grown and it takes more votes.

June 19, 2006, 1:13 p.m.Well Done... On it's way to be a 5 star site. But have to agree with some. Lose the sidebar.

June 20, 2006, 10:29 a.m.I notice that Netscape did away with the large center page ads. Looks much better and I love it. The center text ads are far less annoying. Nice to know that Netscape listens and cares. Keep the enhancements coming...love your site.

June 21, 2006, 8:04 a.m.TimALoftis: We just thought we'd stay in beta forever like Google does... Just kidding. Before we went live with the beta, we had a small spot on Netscape.com main advertising that a New Netscape was coming in n number of days, and that number was counting down to July 1st. So that's what we're aiming for and I think that's what we'll end up doing, but if we end up needing to tweak in beta for a little bit longer, we may.
