I agree with the ad placement. In the end, Netscape has to fix this

I'm not wild about the ads in the middle of the page... but I dislike the frames that open by default when you click an outgoing link. For users that keep a buddy list or sidebar docked on their screen, the space the Netscape frame takes up is way too obstrusive. Have an option to turn it off by default.

The frame thing will be a user preference soon. We'll also try and make the open-in-a-new-window a preference as well. Regarding the ads, that'll be big J and the boys call. Hopefully we can come up with something soon.

Maybe the Netscape anchors should take this advice to their boss because this site is extremely horrible.

Maybe, if this site is so horrible, you should stop commenting on it. You literally made me want to create an account because your "criticism is so special."

Yeah, all these blank gray squares with "Advertisement" written in the corner are really distracting. I can't imagine how annoying they'd be if I wasn't using AdBlock! In all seriousness, the framing thing is really, really annoying. Welcome to the show, AOL, this David v. Goliath story should be interesting.

Netscape is what digg could have been. Instead, they grew too full of themselves and lost their opportunity. Point in fact, digg is NOT user driven as they say. Before you object, just spend a couple hours watching the digg site. Stories with repeated and multiple diggs do not get promoted, while others with little or no "diggs" do. I wont bother alledging a certain bias to their promotions, but its clear to anyone paying attention that they have an agenda and they promote it vigorously - it has nothing do do with user "diggs'. I have no problem with someone running a site as they see fit, but dont misrepresent youself as digg does - someone should sue them for fraud. Digg had a great idea, but they allowed politics and corruption to destroy it, digg today is just about worthless. Too bad for digg. Long live netscape - but only as long as they remain HONEST.

You would not have all those big blank gray squares if you was not using adblock. Maybe I am just not a geek or a techie but other than those in the center of the page, I do not find the ads excessive.

Competition is good, but I sense DIGG will be aquired within the next 60 days. (YAHOO?) Neal Saferstein

In the end, Netscape is for a more serious audience, while Reddit and Digg have just turned out to be for people with no patience or who are under 18.
