Michael Arrington of TechCrunch writes about the New Netscape. He says: "It’s not exactly a Digg clone ... the top few spots in each category and on the home page are determined by an “anchor” - essentially an editor choosing from stories moving up the ranks."

Could netscape possibly squeeze more ads onto this site? They're huge, everywhere and obnoxious. Thank god for Firefox + Adblock.

Divisable... we're at two ad spots right now. That's a lot less than other sites. Of course since this is a beta launch we are running "run of site" ads which can be ugly at times.

I'm giving it a whirl and so far I'm fairly impressed with it. I go to digg just for the tech news so I'm hardly an evangelist... who knows, maybe Netscape will replace digg on one of my tabs someday. :)

I'm really stoked about this whole thing. I know it's like saying I'm stoked about my 10-year-old, but still, excited none-the-less.

How 'bout a "liquid" design that expands on the screen. I.e. I'm running 1280x1024, so I have grey vertical bars on the left and right.

I agree about the ads... The ad in the middle of the comments is a horrible setup. When I first started browsing the site, I thought I was at the last comment. Not only because of the ad, but because the paging (page numbers) is right there too. I assumed that I was at the bottom of the comments because of the paging display more than the ads. Delete the ads and paging in the middle of the comments.
