Digg = Censorship Nazis »
Posted by: debut 2 years, 3 months agoDigg claims: "rather than allow an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users do." Not the case, it's a totalitarian society that still controls the content and even chooses to slander other companies on a whim.

June 15, 2006, 6:23 p.m.I don't think that all these people really understand that Digg is: a) still a new system that has some problems to work out b) fighting spam (and, related to point a, fighting anything that looks like spam) Those "censored" stories are really just stories that met certain criteria for removal. Just like any other story.

June 15, 2006, 7:13 p.m.I have heard a lot of negative stuff about the digg crew. I have been an editor of an international publication for five years. The key to my success is editorial discretion. With a post like this and the rumors that have been flying, it is obvious their editorial discretion is dictated by polotics and advertising. The good thing is that people see right through it. Digg is living up to it's true reputation as an elitist propaganda machine.

June 15, 2006, 7:30 p.m.I dont think people really understand what we the moderaters actually go thru to keep LC a cleen friendly site for all to appreciate and use. How much does the moderaters of Myspace care what there users do, or post on their site? All we want is for users to have a good time while on LC without having to worry about what rapest or child molester or pervert is going thru there profile. This is why we do some of the things we do on LC. I'm not here to trash on Myspace, but I know who I use... http://www.lostcherry.com

June 15, 2006, 10:23 p.m.Articles about other websites are not what people want to see at Digg, and getting the LC masses to help promote the story just makes it more biased. I'm sure LC is ok but from looking at the screenshot on the blog it looks just as messy as Myspace.

June 16, 2006, 8:02 a.m.I for one absolutely love the LostCherry site and for digg to call all of our comments spam is definately wrong. What ever happened to freedom of speach? Is it only what the digg team wants to hear that makes it not spam? http://lostcherry.com/the_one_and_only_cntrygoth Now do I look like spam at all? I think not lol

March 31, 2007, 8:10 p.m.Aggravating, huh? Digg has banned our domain!
They say they did it because of Terms of Use violations, but that's absurd... among the three of us, we only submitted 20 posts over the three days we were live. We suspect they actually banned us because of the content of our posts, which were mainly excerpts from a book by one of us debunking human-caused climate change.
We're calling on the whole online community to support us in our drive to be reinstated in the Digg index. I would deeply appreciate it if you folks would read our story at http://thedeadhand.com/reinstatement.aspx and take whatever action you deem appropriate.
Regards,
Jason G. Williscroft
